Redesigning the Emma Bridgewater catalogue was my favourite job of last year. Before the redesign the catalogue was simply a portfolio of images, all be it beautiful images, I wanted to inject the personality that I knew the brand has. After visiting the factory, it was clear to me that people needed to see the hard work and effort that goes into this handmade pottery. My brief was to show off these premium products, in more of a scrap book way and I had a lot of fun doing it. The target audience were the pottery collectors, who keep, swap and share these catalogues. Having Emma Bridgewater herself add notes was a fun touch that I knew the collectors would love. Paper stock was also an important change to achieve the brief, gone was the glossy, shiny stock and in was a matt recycled paper.
